Founded in 1973 by Maxine Bennett and her son Scotty, Castle Gap is still a proud family-owned and operated business. Today, the 100-year-young Maxine and her daughter Beverly are still in the store every day to greet you and show their exclusive Native American handmade jewelry, primarily from Navajo and Zuni artists. You will also find exclusive one-of-a-kind designs as well as Balinese, Mexican, and designer pieces from Federico, Joan Slifka, Cleoni, and many others. Every item in our store is genuine sterling silver and handpicked to ensure authenticity and quality. And we never carry silver plate.
The name Castle Gap comes from a historic part of West Texas where, legend has it, treasure belonging to Emperor Maximilian of Mexico was buried. Over the years, countless people have ventured to Castle Gap in search of those riches. Such is true at Castle Gap Jewelry, where many customers have visited us at The Plaza at Preston Center to experience the personal service unlike most shopping experiences one would find today.
