CASTLE GAP JEWELRY CO.
THE STORE
Founded in 1973 by Maxine Bennett and her son Scotty, Castle Gap is still a proud family-owned and operated business. Today, her daughter Beverly Bennett, long time managers and “adopted family” Laura Thompsen and Sherry Ward, and Beverly’s middle son, Russell Johnson, run the business and continue the Castle Gap family legacy. Their exclusive focus from the beginning is on genuine sterling silver and authentic handmade Native American jewelry along with other Native and modern designer jewelry lines including Federico, Acleoni, and Zina.
THE STORY
The name Castle Gap comes from the historic Castle Gap pass through Castle Mountains in West Texas where, legend has it, treasure belonging to Emperor Maximilian of Mexico was buried. Over the years countless people, including the Bennett family, have ventured to the pass in search of those riches. Such is true of Castle Gap Jewelry, where customers visit them at The Plaza at Preston Center to experience the personal service of a family business while finding treasure of their very own.
