THE STORY

In 1856, Charles Orvis founded the Orvis Company in Manchester, Vermont, offering the finest fly-fishing equipment and building his business on customer satisfaction and exceptional service. Today, Orvis has the longest-running mailorder business in the U.S., and the flagship retail outlet is still located in Manchester, Vermont—which means we can provide to our customers the experience and knowledge no other retail company can.
